Project Description
The Parking Lot 4 Improvements are the beginning of the Downtown DeKalb Revitalization. The Lot 4 Improvements consist of complete removal of the existing pavement and appurtenances, and installation of a permeable brick pavement system. The permeable brick is designed to allow rainwater to filter down through the pavement system and dissipate into the soil as opposed to directly draining from the pavement into the storm drains. New brick sidewalks, concrete curbs and site furnishings such as new benches, seating walls and bike racks, will be installed around Lot 4 as part of the improvements. New decorative light poles will be erected around Lot 4 and conduit will be installed for future installation of surveillance cameras around Lot 4. The landscaping around Lot 4 will consist of planting areas with perennials, shrubs and shade trees around the lot.
